GTA 6 Map: Vice City and Leonida Explained

GTA 6 Map: Vice City and Leonida Explained

Quick answer: GTA 6 is set in Leonida, Rockstar’s fictional version of Florida. The state includes the city of Vice City (inspired by Miami) and several regions inspired by real Florida landscapes.

Vice City

A modern neon metropolis on the Atlantic coast. Named areas include:

  • Ocean Beach: the beachfront nightlife strip, a nod to Miami Beach.
  • Little Cuba: inspired by Little Havana.
  • VC Port: the busy port area.
  • Tisha-Wocka flea market.

Leonida’s regions

Region Inspired by What to expect
Leonida Keys Florida Keys Islands, bridges, boats; Jason’s home base
Grassrivers Everglades Wetlands, airboats, alligators
Port Gellhorn Florida’s Gulf Coast towns A faded coastal town
Ambrosia Florida’s agricultural heartland Industry, including the Allied Crystal sugar refinery
Mount Kalaga National Park North Florida forests Hunting, fishing and off-road trails

How big is the map?

Rockstar has not published the map size. Fan estimates based on trailers suggest it is larger than GTA V’s map, but these are unofficial. See GTA 6 Map Size Compared to GTA 5.

Other notable locations

Leonida Penitentiary (where Lucia was held) and Only Raw Records are among the named locations.
