Grand Theft Auto VI is only weeks away, and the music side of Rockstar’s biggest launch is starting to take shape. A listing for Grand Theft Auto VI: Original Score has reportedly appeared on Apple Music with a release date of December 11, 2026, a little more than three weeks after the game itself arrives on November 19. Rockstar Games has not officially announced the score, so for now this should be treated as a leak, but the source makes it one of the more credible rumours of the pre-launch period.

Here is everything we know about the GTA 6 soundtrack, the score and how they fit into the launch calendar.

GTA 6 Original Score: what the listing shows

The listing was spotted by a Reddit user and quickly picked up across the GTA community on October 28. According to the leaked entry, the Original Score would contain roughly 50 tracks. That is expected to include the instrumental pieces that play during missions, cutscenes and key story moments, as well as some voiced songs that help define the game’s musical identity.

  • Reported release date: December 11, 2026
  • Platform where it surfaced: Apple Music
  • Reported track count: about 50
  • Official status: not yet confirmed by Rockstar Games
  • Physical editions: no word yet on CD or vinyl

Only a couple of song titles have been seen so far. One is “Flower In A Hurricane”, the already announced collaboration involving Justice, Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. The other is a track titled “Pusher”, which appears to be a Justice song featuring Gesaffelstein. Neither Rockstar nor the artists have formally confirmed “Pusher”, so treat it as unverified until an official tracklist lands.

Score vs album: two different GTA 6 music releases

It is easy to mix up the two music projects tied to Grand Theft Auto VI, so here is the difference.

GTA VI: The Album

The Album is a concept record featuring well-known artists, with many of its songs expected to show up in the game itself, likely on in-game radio or in key scenes. It is set to release on November 19, the same day as the game.

GTA VI: Original Score

The Original Score is the composed music that sits underneath the action: chase themes, heist build-ups, quiet character moments. If the leak is accurate, it arrives on December 11, giving players a few weeks with the game before the score hits streaming services. That timing also makes sense from a spoiler point of view, since instrumental track names sometimes reveal story beats or mission names.

Why the music matters so much in GTA 6

Music has always been a huge part of Grand Theft Auto’s identity, and Vice City in particular is remembered for its soundtrack. Rockstar has leaned heavily into that legacy in its marketing for the new game. The GTA 6 launch trailer put the Justice collaboration front and centre, and the return to a modern-day version of Vice City and the wider state of Leonida gives the studio plenty of room for a mix of genres. For a closer look at the setting, read our explainer on the GTA 6 map, Vice City and Leonida.

A dedicated score release also suggests Rockstar wants the game’s composed music to stand on its own, in the same way film and TV scores reach audiences outside the screen. With two protagonists, Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, there is a good chance the score includes themes tied to each character. Our GTA 6 character guide covers everyone officially revealed so far.

GTA 6 release date and launch timeline

The game itself remains locked in for November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Here is how the next few weeks look:

  • November 12: pre-load opens for console players who pre-ordered
  • November 19: GTA 6 launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, alongside GTA VI: The Album
  • December 11 (reported): GTA VI: Original Score on streaming platforms
  • PC: no official date yet

What about GTA 6 on PC?

Rockstar still has not given a PC date. Some industry insiders claim a PC version could follow in the first quarter of 2027, which would match the studio’s habit of launching on consoles first. Nothing is confirmed, though, so PC players should keep expectations in check. We track every update in GTA 6 PC release: what we know.

Should you trust the December 11 date?

Leaks from streaming platforms tend to be fairly reliable, because they usually come from metadata uploaded by labels ahead of release. That said, dates on these listings can be placeholders and can change. Until Rockstar posts an official announcement, December 11 is best seen as a likely target rather than a guarantee. We will update this story as soon as the full tracklist or an official confirmation appears.
